Show Notes:
How did Jordan Baggett’s youth club, the Colorado Rush, help shape her into the incredible player she is today? What was it like stepping onto the field with a young Lindsey Horan? How did Jordan (Instagram Link) overcome a handful of injuries early in her professional career to come back stronger and more fearless than even? And what piece of advice would she give to her young soccer-playing self?
Listen as Jordan answers these questions and so much more in what I would consider one of our most inspirational episodes yet!
And when Jordan talks, we should all listen!
While NWSL fans may be getting reacquainted with Jordan as an emerging force in Racing Louisville's midfield after an extended period of absence due to injury, Jordan has been absolutely lighting it up on soccer fields across the country for years!!!
To name just a few of her accomplishments, Jordan has:
Won an ECNL national championship with one of the nation’s most elite and progressive youth soccer clubs, the Colorado Rush
Won a college National Championship with Stanford University, etching her name alongside other soccer heroes like Julie Foudy, Christen Press, Alana Cook, Sophia Smith, Naomi Girma and Kelly O’Hara
Rack up an impressive list of individual honors during her time at Stanford, such as PAC-12 ‘Midfielder of the Year’, ‘First Team All-American’, and was a finalist for ‘National Player of the Year’
Was the third player selected in the 2019 NWSL Draft, having been drafted by the Washington Spirit with their first pick, and went on to make 35 appearances, scoring 5 goals, before joining Racing Louisville
And that’s just scratching the surface of Jordan’s many accomplishments!
This episode also feature questions from two youth players from the Racing Louisville Youth Academy…one from a ten-year-old player named Hannah, and another from my daughter and co-host, Elizabeth.
I hope you enjoy!
Yours in soccer and health,
JulieAnne and Elizabeth
